Does Anet know about this? Maybe someone should email support about it...I mean, seriously. Theres over 20... and imagine how many they are actually doing the mission. This is seriously screwing up GW. I'll just be happy when I see the "Bot User's Banned" announcement.
Anyone have any info from support about this? Or has someone already mailed them?
Thanks
Ashleigh

Completly wrong, the drops are only affected for the player in the zone, and they regenerate over time if you go to other places.
If what you said was in any way true that would mean it would be impossible to get a gold drop ever

Scarabs are the solution to all our problems!
Wow, when I see those screenshots. I never realised Elona had become such a hot spot. I've pretty much stopped farming monsters, farming people is such faster money
Note: to everyone who says these are bots, they're most likely chinese sweatshop workers. I've chatted with them a few times, once got free powerlevelling out of droks with one who spoke a little english

Do they bother anyone?
I'd rather have ANet focusing on leavers, scammers and auction houses instead.

Yes. They do.
They get advantages over other players- people care about that.
They are also using illegal programs to bend there way around the game mechanics.
There also increasing the ammount of rares around- so that people will be able to get there hands of really good rares, for a really low price- making items not so "rare" anymore.

How can you ignore the fact that people, right infront of you, are abusing the game YOU(or somebody) payed for. THEY ARE getting an advantage over you, by cheating. Theres also the annoying fact they all fill up district space... spacing out the actual legitiment players, so it's harder to get a good group together, because there seems to always be bots there.
I don't mean to be nasty or anything, but it's just my opinion. Others may not care about them, but others may do. I'm just arguing my point.
Thanks

Why would you ignore them? Farmers are the ones that make the economy so damn messy with constant balancing. How hard would it be to have a GM sitting in that town shutting down accounts. They'll buy another one too, if they want to keep making money off in-game gold.

The only thing is, trying to find a monk at Elona, which was hard to start with, is now frustrating because you can see the monks, but they don't want to do the mission.
btw, I farm elona faster than they do if and when I need to get some money. (I have a mesmer, her wardrobe is expensive).
Oh, and was there ever a time when golds that dropped there were perfect?

I fail to see how they are getting an advantage over me at all. Let them farm, I am not going to let it bother me. If I want stuff I'll get it myself, and I certainly won't waste my time getting it at Elona....
The economy has been bollocks ever since it's release - so what's new ? If you are going to blame anyone blame Anet for not putting a proper trading system in in the first place. A system where you can set your own prices rather than some mythical algorithm would have been much more sensible.

The thing is, there's actually legitimate Mo/W's in the world too. Some of them may even be at Elona Reach.
It is somewhere between very hard and impossible to accurately tell a script-using player (ie a sweatshop botter monitoring 5-15 computers playing in parallel) from a legit player who just happen to like to farm a lot.
That's why you don't have GM's at Elona Reach shutting down accounts left and right.
What I expect ANet is doing, is use statistical tools to monitor players, and flag accounts which fulfill certain criteria (such as that it's running 24/7). A human GM will then take a look at the account and try to figure out if it's run by botters.
Of course, the bot-script programmers will try to avoid triggering the statistical tools, by adding randomness in the movement, random chatter, and downtime, to their accounts.
WRT Elona Reach it seems all the botters run the same very primitive script (watch how they all pile up in one place!), so it should be easier to spot than the more advanced scripts earlier used at Augury Rock.
As for why botting and gold-selling is bad for the game, it's because it fuels mudflation (continuously dropping value of gold and items, which separates it from inflation, which is dropping value of just gold). ANet has been quite good about coming up with gold sinks to avoid inflation, but has done sweet nothing about the depreciation of items.

Heres what I think they should do: Try talk to each of the individuals... if they don't reply after a few minuites( of actually being active:eg moving)... just issue them a ban.

They are most definitly no sweatshop workers. People should stop repeating this over and over again in forums. There are no sweatshop workers in Guild Wars, unlike 'other' online games.
Both now and previously in droknar's forge they are 100% bots. Accounts are being stolen with the use of so called cheats/exploit programs.
Any other technical person that had a look at them will tell you they are bots. Bots meaning program's to repeat keystrokes and/or mouse movement/clicks. For these spots there is no skill required, and thus no persons.
Because there is no online fee (no risk), and there aren't thousends of moderators being present checking activity, again unlike other online games, there is absolutely no need for real people to do the work.
That people will find a 55-monk in an international district and go on a stroll with them isn't strange, 55-monks come in all nationality's.

That's one of the biggest reasons why there's a human sweatshop botter monitoring 5-15 computers: to answer whispers. Basically, if you whisper a bot, a human will reply within a few seconds. Feel free to try.

Tbh, if someone is farming the Minotaurs in Elona for over 10 hours a day, non-stop and is NOT a bot farmer. I think Anet would be doing them a favour by banning them, anyone that farms the same area that much alone without talking to anyone needs to find a life of there own.
As far as i can see, if your account gets stolen because you downloaded a Third Party Program, you have no-one to blame but yourself.

This is also annoying to those in the "Love and War" guild, aka [love]. We have the same guild tag as some of the bots, but there are NO bot users in our small (10-13 member) guild.
